For most Americans. A-ha was a flash-in-the-pan act in 1985 with their wordwide number 1 smash "Take on Me." The video was as memorable as the song itself. In 1987 they even provided the tilte song for the James Bond film "The Living Daylights." The band did have several additional singles in America from 1985 through 1993 ending when "Dark is the Night" bubbled under the Modern Rock charts. They even appeared on the "One Night at McCools" soundtrack in 2002 with the single "Velvet," but even then, A-ha has been nothing but a segment on VH-1's numerous "I Love The 80s" marathons stateside.
In Europe, the band never faltered and has continued to chart and sell out shows for the last 20 years. Even Chris Martin of Coldplay said A-ha was one of the band's biggest influences. So, for 2005, they have a new album (produced by legendary producer Flood) ready to launch on the heels of the successful debut single "Celice" (mixed by Paul van Dyk). Slated for release in Europe and Canada only (as with all of the band's material after 1993) here is what we've been missing:
