The spring / summer of 2007 may become known as the return of modern rock with all these great new guitar-driven releases courtesy of the indie labels. The October will no doubt top the playlists of the better rock radio stations with their killer new single, Gravity, which has the perfect sound for a summer top 10 hit. Shimmering guitars, driving bassline, and tight vocals (with a hint of Bono on some of the high notes) will move all but the truly tone deaf. Real rock and roll is alive and well in Kentucky, and The October exude sophisticated brilliance with each and every song. Gravity provides an instant soundtrack for a summer evening drive through America's south with the top down. Listen for shades of earlier U2, The Alarm, and The Church. Give them a spin and be sure to turn the speakers way up...Gravity (The October) - Courtesy of CMJ
