Ok, another short post today, but this one is a real gem from multi-reedist Sahib Shihab. In 1965, Oktav Music released the fantastic European jazz album Sahib Shihab and The Danish Radio Jazz Group (which now fetches hundreds of dollars if you are lucky enough to even find it). The great site Orgy in Rhythm (who I dedicate this post to as a thank you) first brought this album to my attention and I've been hooked on Shihab's music ever since. In 2001, a very limited edition CD re-issue was released complete with one bonus track featuring Shihab on vocals. This is the track I am featuring here today. Existing Sahib Shihab fans will want to snap this one up, but so will all of you lounge fans. This one has some nice loungey orchestral arrangements, almost in a Verve records sort of way. An essential and rare pick for jazz and lounge fans alike. Enjoy...Little French Girl (Sahib Shihab)
