Here is the original Laurie Johnson theme for the first season of The Avengers from 1961 starring Ian Hendry as David Keel. I found this theme on the Internet a few months ago but the sound was so poor and the version so short.
I believe this is the music that Monty Python used for openings for their news show skits also.
This is not the Laurie Johnson theme, it is theme that was written by John Dankworth, the British jazz musician.
