Eric Winestone and his Orchestra: Doctor Who Theme

Ok, here is a quick post for today. Funny, I seem to recall my not planning on posting anything retro for a while, but seems I can't break the run. Just discovered this little gem of a cover and had to share it. This is Eric Winestone's cover of the famous Doctor Who Theme which was released as a single in 1965 and appeared on the LP shown above a year later. It has since shown up on a number of theme compilations through the years gaining its own legion of fans. Having heard countless versions of the theme, I really think this one stands out among the best. I really like the spy-tinged orchestral feel combined with the electronic trademark of the theme. Works very well.
