For those of you still lamenting the demise of the original Factory Records, there are still plenty of groups keeping that trademark sound alive. Mahogany formed in Detroit in 1996 and first signed with Burnt Hair Records. Their Dual-Group EP gained airplay in the UK thanks to the late John Peel. In 1999 they moved to Brooklyn, New York and released their highly-acclaimed debut album, The Dream of a Modern Day in 2001. Last year, the band released their second studio album, Connectivity, which featured production help from Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins. The album also features the vocal debut of Lucy Belle Guthrie (daughter of Robin Guthrie & Elizabeth Frazier), so Cocteau Twins fans may want to check this out.Supervitesse - from Connectivity
