Here's another new release which appeared this week (courtesy of Science of Sound Records) the debut album by Sleeping In The Aviary. Hailing from Madison, Wisconsin, these guys have a great indie sound with a comedic twist. Their sound has "drawn comparisons to bands such as The Thermals, The Kinks, Nirvana and The Violent Femmes --often sounding frenzied or angry, but strangely good-natured about it." The vinyl version of Oh, This Old Thing, which comes out February 20th, contains 7 bonus tracks. The band's artwork (featured on their website) is equally appealing reminding me of Edward Gorey and Tim Burton. Dark humor is the underlying theme here. College and Indie radio program directors really need to give this album some spins and add Another Girl to your rotation. A refreshing debut from a very talented group.Another Girl
