Spain's indie elctronic act, Anorak, released a great album full of punk / new wave covers last year entitled Synthetic Pop Covers From The European Space Agency which is now available from Darla Records. The album includes electronic cover versions of classic tracks by Joy Division, The Stranglers, XTC, Wire, The Ramones, The Jam, Buzzcocks and more. Below is their New Order-esque version of The Stranglers classic, No More Heroes. The Peter Hook-like bass line is killer. Here's a bit more on the band:"Anorak, the bright hope of the Spanish "cooltronica" scene, two Spanish members and one from UK coming from Rubi, a village in the province of Barcelona, tried with success to translate the teen spirit into the 80's synth-pop... the roots and influences include such names as New Order and Pet Shop Boys." from Rhonda Records.
