Lately I've been hooked on Washington DC's newest radio station, 94.7 The Globe. The station makes me feel better about the industry I left as it is all about the music (and fans of the old WHFS can rejoice that The Weasel is back). This week they played one of my favorite song choices during my old shows: 3 Strange Days by School of Fish (talk about a song to kickstart a radio show by the ocean in the summer). The band's leader, Josh Clayton-Felt went on to record a number of very good solo albums after the group folded in 1994. His solo career was rising rapidly, but he was taken from us at the young age of 32 in January 2000 when he died from cancer. Another bright young talent gone well before his time. Thankfully, his music continues to live on as a number of previously unreleased recordings have been released and out-of-print albums re-issued. The song featured below hails from the 2002 release Spirit Touches Ground.Dragonfly
NOTE: The Lost Turntable has posted School of Fish's vinyl-only 4 song EP The Wrong Sampler here (just scroll down a bit).
