Ok, enough new wave / dance music for a while. Time to plug the guitars back in with New York's Jonny Lives!. With all this cold snow and ice moving in, this is just the music to get you psyched for a long summer. Here's a description of the band's guitar-driven sound from their website:"Jonny Lives! lush & dirty, glossy & gritty Lower East Side sound blares with an urgency that'll push you out of the way if you don't move with it. The East Village of NYC is our muse. People are up to no good every night; there's a copious amount of debauchery going on, and it's all inspiration for our music.”
The song Get Steady, is featured in National Lampoon's recent film, Van Wilder The Rise of Taj. In support of the film, Jonny Lives! has been touring with Everclear as part of the Van Wilder Tour. Jonny Lives! is living proof that great guitar bands can still be found in the city that never sleeps. Make sure you turn your volume up to 11.
